November 12, 2009

Former classmate John Welch (aka JW) passed away recently in Atlanta, GA after a long fight with Cancer. He leaves a daughter. At present these are the only details that I can report. Here is his Obituary from the Pensacola News Journal. And the Obituary from the Birmingham News. Since JW and I were personal friends during high school and for a couple of years afterward, I just wanted to say that people will always remember him for being a low key guy with an east going personality. And he could hold his beer with the best of them. :-)

Former classmate Kurt Schnabel passed away October 19, 2009 at West Siide Care facility in Manchester. Kurt was 46 years old.

Unfortunately, I have more very bad news to pass along about another former classmate. Noreen O''Loughlin passed away at a Cape Cod hospital on Wednesday January 14. More details about her passing can be found on the Hartford Courant website. The full obiituary is posted here.

December 13, 2008

The Simsbury High School Boys 2008 Varsity Football team came one game away from playing in the Class L State Championship game. A 28 to 7 loss to Newington in the semi finals ended their hope of a champsionship season. Congratulations to the team and coaching staff for a great season and we'll look forward to an even better finish in 2009!

The Simsbury High School Girls 2008 Field Hockey team now shares the Class L State Championship with Stamford. Congratulations to all involved for bringing another state title to Simsbury High School. You can read the article in the Hartord Courant here.

Former classmate Jim Brunoli passed away September 1, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Jim was 45 years old.
